It’s Day 16, and we are doing Lord of the Dance aka King Dancer aka Dancer or Natarajasana.
This is one of my favorite poses. In the past, I had a dialogue going about how clumsy I was. Dancer was a pose where I got to pretend to be graceful. I still don’t know if I can be considered graceful, but I have gotten way better at practicing. 🙂
You can make this pose as much of a back bend as you want. Starting out, try just holding your back foot and standing on one foot. Once this gets comfortable, push your heel up and away from your body to open the chest. If you are getting foot cramps, you may be trying to grip the mat with your feet to balance. If you still have a hard time balancing, try holding on to a chair.
